Sustainable Tourism Development and TurespañaGonzalo Cembalos, Deputy Director General for Development and Sustainable Tourism Turespaña, Jose Salinas, managing director of Valencia Tourism and Jose Maria Rubio, Vice President of Taste Spain have announced new strategic lines of Taste Spain to lead the development of culinary tourism in Spain.

Savor Spain Association met these days in the city of Valencia to develop the latest in a series of workshops that have allowed new lines to discuss strategic plans Savor Spain carried out during the coming years. The conference, which have brought together a host of gastronomic tourism experts with members of Savor Spain, have been held in Barcelona, ​​June 16, Valladolid, June 27 and Thursday and Friday in Valencia.

This time the Association will be served from Valencia, a growing tourist destination, with a 15% increase in overnight stays so far this year and acknowledged tradition of bringing food to its tourism promotion strategy. Among the various initiatives of the city include its strong commitment to strengthen the Valencia cuisine through the project Savor Spain, thus associating a leading destination for a project leader.

Savor Spain wants to lead the development of culinary tourism in Spain during the coming years, and understands that it is essential to have maximum participation of all institutions involved in tourism and in the world of gastronomy. Taste in Spain is currently focused on four lines:

• Development of tourism products and gastronomic experiences.
• Improve brand positioning Taste Spain.
• Brand Promotional activities, destinations and products, “Taste Spain / Tasting Spain” directed at both the national and international market.
• Marketing of products and experiences “Taste Spain / Tasting Spain”, through internal and external channels.
In the medium and long term plans to work in the development of four major strategic objectives:

1. Getting a management structure to achieve that end, following the strategies chosen and with the involvement of partners.

2. Develop a great marketing plan to improve the positioning of targets integrated into the project and the promotion of Spanish Gastronomy.

3. To become a platform for sustainable products. That enhances the authentic dining experiences, linked to the territory, the local flavors and our rich cuisine and culture.

4. Getting Taste Spain is identified inside and outside our borders with a mark of reference destinations and culinary tourism experiences.

Savor Spain Association is comprised of four institutions nationally and internationally: FEHR (Spanish Federation of Hospitality), Spanish Association of Destination Tourism Promotion Gourmet, Euro toques (European organization composed of chefs cooks high prestige) and Facile (Association of Chefs and Pastry, Spain) and chaired by the chef Pedro Susiana. The networking of the four partners has enabled the birth of Taste Spain with a common goal: the empowerment of gastronomy as a tourist attraction and public-private collaboration, transforming gourmet products in specialized and unique tourism experiences.
