The Ministry of Tourism reported that at the beginning of the summer holiday period there was an increase in the number of visitors in the main tourist resorts.

The 70 major destinations nationwide rose by 29% in tourist arrivals in the period comprising the first and second week of July.

During this period, colonial cities like Zacatecas tourist arrivals grew by 87%, the city of Guanajuato in 76%, San Juan de los Lagos 76%, 74% Tequisquiapan San Cristobal deals Cases 73%.

Beach destinations like Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, tourist arrivals grew by 61%, 57%Acapulco, Huánuco 47%, Cancun, Loreto 35% and 34%.

Within a week, other destinations like Oaxaca City the number of tourists increased by 56%, Valle de Bravo in 52% of Campeche 46%, 37% Monterrey, Guadalajara, 31%, Puerto Vallarta 26% Cozumel 24%.

Similarly, the first and second week of July, 70 major tourist destinations in the country increased the number of hotel rooms occupied by 19%.

With the aim of encouraging and promoting domestic tourism and enhance economic flow during the summer season, the Tourism Ministry and the Council of the Mexico Tourism Board (MTB) have reinforced the campaigns of various destinations country.

For this summer vacation season, it is estimated that the economic flow in the sector at national level will be 250 thousand 619 million pesos.

During this period, it is expected that 48.4 million people will visit our tourist attractions, such is the case of the Routes of Mexico, Colonial Treasures, Magic People, archaeological sites and places for adventure tourism, as well as traditional sun destinations beach.
