In order to empower Santiago as a tourist destination, the Undersecretary of Tourism, Jacqueline Pass and National Director of Senator, Alvaro Castillo, with the mayor ofProvidencia, Christian Labe, the mayor of Recollect, Sol Likelier and the mayor of Santiago Pablo Zalaquett, today launched the Capital Road.

This is a Bicentennial project that meets the most distinctive elements of our country in geography, culture, heritage and tourism. A total of 10 routes from Arica to Puntarenas that integrate key elements of national identity.

The first to be opened was the route of the capital, which ”aims to highlight the best of each neighborhood that up-Providence, Santiago, Recollect and Vitacura. These are places known for their history, heritage, identity, attractions, tourist services, culture, among other things, “Pass said.

Meanwhile, the National Director of Senator, said this tour is ”guided by the presence of the Mapco River, a key element in the founding of Santiago, and the circuits are marked by totems (support of tourist information that works on a human scale) that provide the visitor a tour of the city so close and friendly. ”

It is hoped that this initiative more than 2000 tourist services in the capital, registered in the National Tourism Service, may benefit.
